Tom Burgess’ fiancée, Tahlia Giumelli made an emergency visit to hospital via ambulance after revealing she is suffering from a ‘silent but painful’ disease.

The 25-year-old shared a message for her fans via Instagram Stories revealing the reason behind her shock hospital dash.

‘When family dinner turns into a family trip to the hospital via the ambulance,’ she wrote, alongside a picture of herself in a hospital bed with NRL star, Tom sat by her side.

‘Crohns [sic] attack midway through dinner. Crohn’s disease is silent but painful,’ she added.

Crohn’s is defined as a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that aggravates the lining of the digestive tract. Its symptoms include severe abdominal pain, diarrhoea and anaemia.

‘After some pain meds and fluids, home and feeling fine again,’ the 25-year-old reassured her followers.

The Miss Universe Australia 2018 has spoken about how she manages the disease I the past, telling Body and Soul in 2017, ‘I’m pretty honest and this is something I wouldn’t hide. Tom was really understanding.

‘He’s been a good support through and through from the beginning – he’s always encouraging me. He’s amazing.’

The model also explained that there are certain foods she has to avoid. ‘No onion, no garlic, no mushrooms. The hardest is no red meat or avocado. I love avocado. I can’t have anything high in fibre or fructose.’

Tom and Tahlia welcomed their first child together last August, a daughter named Sophie.

The pregnancy wasn’t been smooth sailing for the first-time mum, with Tahlia revealing that she was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum and bedridden for most of the first trimester.
