In one of the two portraits released from the ceremony, which was held at the private chapel in Windsor Castle, royal observers have said the Duke of Cambridge looks “sour” and “not amused”.
William is stood diagonally behind brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who sat on a green chair with her son on her lap, in the Green Drawing Room.
Twitter users wrote: “William and his Aunts are not amused.”
“I find it funny that Prince William is trying so hard not to smirk.”
“William looks so sour in the face!”
And it wasn’t just William who got a public lashing.
Social media users also criticised his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge for looking “pained” and as though she “didn’t look thrilled to be there”.
Earlier this week, Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle expressed his sadness at not being invited to his grandson’s christening.
The 74-year-old - who currently resides in Mexico - told the Mail on Sunday that he would have enjoyed being included in the celebration.
“I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen’s church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson, of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents’ health and happiness.”
