The Met Gala look that took over 13,500 hours to create

Gigi Hadid knows how to nail a theme.

Gigi Hadid attended the 2024 Met Gala in a stunning gown created by Thom Browne. The white off-the-shoulder-corset dress worn by Hadid has gone viral as the news breaks that the dress took over 13,500 hours and took a team of more than 70 people to create.

The outer layer’s skirt alone took 40 people and over 8,500 hours to embroider… As for the corset dress, a team of 20 spent 5,000 hours hand-embroidering 2.8 million micro bugle beads to the dress.

“I wanted her look to embody the fragility and immense work that you see in Andrew [Bolton]’s exhibit, blooming on the carpet and into the Metropolitan Museum of Art,” Browne told Vogue.

“It’s always a privilege to watch Gigi come to life. She is a true talent that shines at whatever she does.”

The dress will live in Browne’s permanent archive following the event.
