Loop It! Here’s How Everyone Is Wearing Their Belts This Season

Don’t miss out on these waisted opportunities

It seems everyone has hopped aboard this latest accessory trend, which shows us how the humble belt can be more than just a fastener.

As the focal point of many celebs’ outfits, runway looks and street-style ensembles, we can already tell that it is going to be a big part of our autumn/winter wardrobes.

The trend is not only about just belting your bottom half – think skirts, pants and jeans – but also getting experimental with belting blazers and outerwear too.

We’ve put together some outfit inspo to get you thinking outside the box.

Over A Coat

As we head towards coat season, try wearing a belt on top of your outerwear.

This styling technique works particularly well with oversized, boxy-fitting coats as it can create a more feminine silhouette. Play around with mixing and matching materials too, so if your coat is a soft wool blend, be sure to pick a leather-style belt to create a cool contrast.

Around Your Jeans

Adding a simple belt to a pair of jeans may seem like a simple styling technique, but it’s an easy way of making an outfit look more polished and put together.

If you’re ready to take things up a notch, then choose a belt in a trending hue like red. An easy way of adding a pop of colour, you can also have fun with matching a belt and mary janes in a similar shade.

Take a statement belt in a block colour and fasten it on top of your blazer. Perfect for the office, styling a belt this way will cinch in and flatter your waist.

Both chunky and thin belts work well over a blazer, so be sure to shop around to find your preferred piece.

Around Your Skirt

Don’t forget about your winter skirts because they can be belted too. Just before you tuck in a tee or chunky knit jumper, pop a belt in place!

Even if you have a skirt without belt loops, you can fake it by placing a wide, thick belt over the waistband to give your outfit a chic finish.
