Tyson and his sister Amy may have been the best home cooks of My Kitchen Rules 2017, but now Tyson has turned his passion into a career by becoming a professional chef.
The MKR winner shared the news on Instagram, showing off his certificate of completion.
"It’s official - I’m a chef!! I’ve been working really hard this past year to follow my dreams and become a qualified chef and today there’s proof in the pudding," he shared on Instagram.
Tyson then thanks multiple people, including his sister Amy who he competed with on the Channel 7 cooking show.
"To the best big sister @amyjeanmurr, we started this journey together on @mykitchenrules and I wouldn’t have done it with anyone else. Thanks for bossing me and encouraging me in equal measures!"
It's official - I'm a chef!! I've been working really hard this past year to follow my dreams and become a qualified chef and today there's proof in the pudding! There's a lot of people I need to thank and I don't like talking much, but today I will. To the best big sister @amyjeanmurr, we started this journey together on @mykitchenrules and I wouldn't have done it with anyone else. Thanks for bossing me and encouraging me in equal measures! To the whole MKR team, especially @chefpeteevans and @manufeildelofficial for your mentoring and advice. Thanks to the contestants for all of your encouragement whilst filming and since, looking at you @timandkyle_ , @valeriecourtney.mkr, @dellatully.mkr @karenros.mkr I need to thank everyone @hotelwestend for giving me the opportunity to work in a proper kitchen when I was an unemployed, ex Uber driver and had just finished filming a reality tv show that hadn't even aired yet, you took me on and gave me a go. Thanks to all the chefs for the endless training and sharing of knowledge. Thanks @clubtrainingaustralia - the best chef training provider in the business. Lastly but definitely not least my friends and family for the constant support, @murrw, @nickmurr88 and @smatawee and a special thank you to @della.j.m for being there when it was all too hard and I wanted to give in (and helping me speed up the process a little!) THANK YOU ALL. Back to dinner shift now and countless more hours behind a hot stove! 😘👨🏼🍳❤️ #wordquotafortheyear #cheflife #mykitchenrules #mkr #amytyson #bestyearyet
Tyson also gave a shout out to MKR judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel and fellow contestants Tim and Kyle, Valerie and Courtney, Della and Tully and Karen and Ros.
Amy also took to Instagram to give her brother a shoutout.
"I could not be more proud of my littlest brother and the dedication he has put in to completing his apprenticeship.... Oh and I figured he studied an oven cleaning module, so got him around."
For fans missing MKR, the show will be back next year with a MAJOR change!
