Pete is a builder who runs his own building business, Ferne Built, with his brother Matt.
Ash frequently posts cute couple photos of herself and her partner on Instagram, alongside heartwarming dedications to Pete.
“Some say opposites attract, certainly not in our case! You, Pete, are all-encompassing #NoRulesForLuuuurve #DoYou,” Ash recently posted alongside a cute snap of herself and Pete.
On Valentine’s Day last year, she also penned a cute post dedicated to Pete.
“I won’t be spending $76,000 on red roses for my Pete but I’ll publicly announce my love for him right here. You’re the butter to my bread @fernebuilt. Love you.”
But the couple hit a roadblock quite early on in their relationship, when Ash relocated to the NSW Central Coast to join the Hit Network’s 101.3 breakfast show alongside Daniel “Gawndy” Gawned.
That meant the pair were forced to enter a long distance relationship, with Pete based in Melbourne.
Ash has been open with her followers about how difficult she found living apart from Pete during that time.
“I miss my Peteeeeee! Anyone else in a long dissy relationship? It’s tough,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, alongside a cute couple snap of herself and Pete.
In March this year, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together.
“Baby Ferne due September,” Ash revealed on Instagram.
“Baking away nicely, mother sick as a dog but getting on with it, father putting up with mood swings well, have retired pram and cot shopping for the moment cos that was WAY too confusing. Where to next?! Antenatal classes? We are over the moon and taking it all in our stride.”
At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, pregnant Ash relocated to Melbourne to be with Pete.
The couple are now in lockdown together and Ash broadcasts her radio show each morning virtually from home.
