The 2026 TV Week Logie Awards did not disappoint this year as the night was not only filled with dance numbers, digs, and reptile shows (all courtesy of Robert Irwin) but also honoured some incredible talent, like Deborah Mailman becoming the first Indigenous Logies Hall of Fame inductee (it’s about time!) and Heather Mitchell delivering a touching tribute to Sam Neill as she accepted his posthumous Logie award.
Despite Gold Logie nominee Lisa Millar, host of Muster Dogs, missing out on gold as Sam Pang took home the coveted award, the rural reality show won the Silver Logie for Best Structured Reality Program.
The show follows a group of farmers and graziers across Australia as they attempt to train a litter of puppies into working livestock-mustering dogs in just 12 months.
Speaking to WHO on the red carpet, Millar unpacked what a win means for the people behind the show and what will happen to the actual award now it’s been won.
‘They are desperate for me to win another Logie for Muster Dogs’
Beaming on the red carpet and looking glorious in gold, Millar revealed that the Muster Dogs crew were blowing up her phone with ‘good lucks’ and ‘congratulations’ before the night even began.
“I get to know all of them,” she said about the crew. “They’ve been messaging me like mad tonight.
“They are desperate for me to win another Logie for Muster Dogs, because it just makes them so happy.”
Unlike other winners, who may keep their Silver Logie hidden high on the top shelf of a studio or home, when Muster Dogs won the award last year, the Logie went for a spin around Australia.
“This is not their world, right?” she explained. “And so when they get the Logie — because we take it around to everyone — when they get the Logie, they’re like ‘Ah, we’re going to take it to footy club, to book club, we’re going to take it to school’.
“All the dogs [are] like licking it and chewing it. You should see last year’s Logie. It is so scratched.”
Millar said it was ‘a privilege’ to receive two Logie nominations
While Millar didn’t take home the gold, she was in high spirits during the evening.
“I feel great,” she said on the red carpet, shimmering in a gold gown by designer Diane Lewis. “You could suggest that this might be like wearing white to a wedding, wearing gold to the Logies when you’ve been nominated, but I’m like, ‘Whatever!’
“I’m manifesting it, honestly.”
She added: “It is such a privilege to have been nominated not once, but twice, and at this point, I think there is not much more we can do. We’re just going to enjoy it.”
