But even his wife Catherine admitted the crisis is taking its toll on her husband.
"His phone is always attached to his ear," she told the ABC in May.
"He has a number of devices he has to be on all the time. He hasn't had a lot of sleep over the past significant couple of months. It's been a long and worrying period in our lives and of course there's huge responsibility for him to make the right decisions because it's not just about the regular things of politics but it's life and death."
But despite the pressure caused by his intense job and the pandemic, it seems Andrews still has plenty of time to hang out with his kids.
On the weekend, the premier's two eldest children both celebrated their birthdays.
"You only turn 18 once. Couldn't be more proud," Andrews wrote alongside a selfie of himself and his eldest child Noah, who officially became an adult on Sunday.
And his middle child Grace also had a birthday this week - she turned 16 on Monday.
"Another big milestone at our place - 16 today. We love you Grace," Andrews wrote on Instagram, alongside a selfie of himself and his daughter.
Victorians loved seeing an insight into their leader's domestic life, with thousands of people commenting their well-wishes on the post.
"You are the best Dan. From one parent of teenagers to another. I love your honesty, clarity and the fact you keep on just being 'Dad' to your kids through everything," one fan commented, while another wrote, "Happy Birthday Noah! Sorry it's not how you imagined your 18th. Thank you for sharing your Dad with us all. We are luck to have him."
