With the Bachelorettes Becky and Elly Miles down to their final three suitors each, Who gets to know the boys who are taking them home to meet their family and friends!
BECKY’S SUITORS
Despite rumours she’s no longer with her chosen beau, Becky tells Who she’s “very happy” with her new guy. But who is he?
SHANNON, 31, SALES REP
From the moment they met on the red carpet, the connection between Shannon Karaka and Becky Miles, 30, has been obvious. But now that he’s made it to the Bachelorette’s hometown visits stage, Karaka’s feeling even more confident he’ll be presented with Becky’s final rose.
So what’s he looking for in a long-term relationship? “Someone who’s family oriented, affectionate, loving and supportive,” says Karaka, who was crowed 2017’s Mr Polynesia Australia.
Adding that he “absolutely believes in love at first sight,” the Sydney-based suitor says he’s ready to settle down and start a family of his own – sooner rather than later.
PETE, 35, CAFE OWNER
Given that he runs his own cafe in Adelaide, Pete Mann is used to making things happen. Further proof of Mann getting what he wants is that he’s lasted long enough on the show to introduce Becky to his family and friends – it’s hardly surprising!
The sparks have flown between defence contracts specialist Becky and handsome Mann from the moment they met.
“Once I commit to something, I’m going to achieve it,” he says, describing his perfect partner as someone who is “positive, happy, authentic, can laugh at themselves – and at me”.
Mann adds, “Someone who enjoys life is the biggest turn on.”
ADRIAN, 26, KITE SURFER
He hasn’t always been seen as one of the favourites to capture Becky’s heart, but the fact she’s keen to meet his family and friends suggests she sees something very special in Adrian Baena from Brisbane.
“I think people misjudge me,” he says. “I can be seen as a bit arrogant because I’m cocky, but I’m actually a really nice, loving person. I’m fun, with a happy mindset and attitude.”
Baena admits he’s had his heart broken “a couple of times”, and that he’s moved overseas for love. Despite being one of the younger contenders, he says he’s ready to get serious – with Becky.
“She’s incredible,” he adds. Time will tell if they can make it work.
ELLY’S SUITORS
After failing to find love with Matt Agnew during the 2019 season of The Bachelor, Elly is back looking for a guy who makes “my heart sing”.
FRAZER, 28, CONCRETER
Elly Miles, 25, has made no secret of the fact she’s smitten with Frazer Neate from Brisbane. And who can blame her? As well as his good looks, Neate is also down to earth and modest – both of these attributes have also attracted nurse Elly.
“I’d describe myself as kind, fun and caring,” the tradie says. “My biggest achievement is just genuinely being happy and having great friends and family around me.”
He sounds like perfect boyfriend material, too!
“I love to make the other person feel happy and special,” he says. “Whether it’s sunset picnics, romantic dinners or surprises, I want to put a smile on my partner’s face whenever I can.”
JOE, 25, LABOURER
He’s been a controversial contender this year, given his relationship history with Elly (the pair dated briefly in 2019). But clearly a spark still exists between Elly and Joe Woodbury as she’s set to meet his family and friends in Newcastle.
It’s a big step, but having overcome what he describes as “huge body issue images” that plagued him for 15 years, Woodbury is more mature than his young age would suggest.
“I’ve learned that training for how it makes me feel rather than how it makes me look is so much more fulfilling,” he says.
As for his connection with Elly, Woodbury says it’s her “smile, sense of humour and being down to earth” that appeals.
ADAM, 25, GEOLOGIST
He’s been compared to last year’s Bachelor Matt Agnew for his nerdy yet adorable personality, so it’s not surprising Adam Todd is a frontrunner to go all way and win Elly’s heart.
The pair sent fans into a frenzy with their undeniable chemistry during a body-painting date on a recent episode, and Perth-based Todd says he’s ready for a deeper commitment should he succeed in being awarded Elly’s final rose.
“I’ve been close [to being in love] but I never committed to the next step,” he tells Who. “I think I’ve been scared to, but I’m ready now.”
Hopefully that reticence won’t hinder his chances with Elly, who’s ready to commit.
