There’s been plenty of tension in the Big Brother Australia house this week, with contestants Ebony and Kyrah finding themselves at the centre of some particularly fiery exchanges.
The pair have very different approaches to life in the house, and neither has been afraid to make their feelings known. Ebony has come under fire for the way she speaks about her fellow housemates, while Kyrah’s loud and outspoken personality has also divided viewers.
Things took another turn when Ebony was named Head of the House, giving her the power to assign household chores. Her first move? Handing Kyrah the job of cleaning the toilets. Not exactly a friendship-building exercise.
The latest drama comes after Harmon was evicted on Sunday night. Speaking to WHO, the former housemate opened up about just how intense things can get when you’re living under the same roof around the clock.

The Kyrah vs Ebony drama, explained
The tension between the pair goes back to Ebony’s comments about household chores and some of her fellow contestants.
Early in the competition, Ebony described cleaning as “peasant work” and referred to other housemates as “hobos” and “peasants”. The comments prompted fellow contestant Charity to pull her aside and explain why the language was hurtful. Ebony apologised, but her attitude continued to be a point of contention.
Kyrah was among those who challenged Ebony over her behaviour, and the pair have since had several heated exchanges.

Kyrah has also been open about being diagnosed with ADHD and autism at 15, and has acknowledged that she can be “full-on” without always realising it.
Her personality and reactions have become part of a wider discussion among viewers, although fans remain divided over both contestants.
Big Brother fans are picking sides
Some viewers have thrown their support behind Ebony, with one admitting they’d changed their mind about the two contestants.
“I was team Kyrah at the start but now I’m team Ebony. Kyra just overreacts way too much, can’t take a joke and go with the flow,” they wrote online.
Others, however, aren’t buying Ebony’s behaviour, particularly her habit of referring to fellow housemates as “hobos” and “peasants”.
“I would always choose loud over Nasty!” one viewer declared.
Another was equally unimpressed, writing: “Ebony is just mean, KYRAH is of higher needs so her being ‘loud’ is just a different way of processing or regulating, I don’t understand people who enjoy watching Ebony.”
Kyrah’s volume has also become a talking point, with one viewer admitting they were finding her outbursts difficult to watch.
“She won’t let anyone get a word in! She’s so draining to watch…. I’m thinking I may be needing to take a valium or something when she’s ranting about pretty much everything! My nerves are shot!!!” they commented.
It’s clear neither housemate has a shortage of supporters or critics, and the debate is showing no signs of slowing down.
Are Ebony and Kyrah actually getting along?
There have been moments when it looked as though the pair might finally be putting their differences aside. After Kyrah spoke positively about Ebony, some viewers wondered whether the feud was starting to settle.
Others weren’t convinced the kind words were genuine.
“I did not take the nice words Kyrah said about Ebony as sincere. She is acting, she told Ryan earlier she sees the whole thing as a big TV production,” they wrote.
Another viewer had a different take, suggesting Kyrah was making an effort to be civil while Ebony remained less receptive.
“Kyrah is trying to make up and be civil. Ebony is not fully there yet,” they commented.
Then came the toilet-cleaning assignment, which certainly didn’t do much to convince viewers that the pair had become best friends. Whether it was a practical chore allocation or another pointed move from Ebony, fans were quick to read between the lines.
Harmon reveals just how intense life inside the Big Brother house gets
While viewers have been watching the tension unfold from their couches, former housemate Harmon has offered a glimpse into what it’s actually like to experience it firsthand.
Speaking to WHO after his eviction on Sunday, Harmon admitted he hadn’t really watched the show before entering the competition, meaning the reality of living with a group of strangers came as a surprise.

“I would say that’s probably the biggest aspect, like in terms of how I was reacting to things and then perceiving other people’s reactions to me because it kind of gets really blown out of proportion,” he said.
“You think, it’s just, are these people – do they really care this much? And then, yeah, I don’t know. It’s kind of – yeah, it’s very up and down.”
It’s a reminder that while viewers see the arguments play out on screen, the contestants are dealing with the same people, conversations and tensions day after day.
And with Ebony now in charge of the household chores, her latest decision has given the housemates another reason to talk. As for whether she and Kyrah will eventually find common ground, viewers will have to keep watching.
