It appears the Big Brother 2026 housemates were getting along a little too well for the man upstairs, so the producers just had to throw a spanner in the works. After all, what’s reality TV without a bit of drama?

From the BBAU Awards’ spicy categories to a narrow early eviction only two days in, Big Brother has been having a lot of fun messing with these contestants.

While some controversial housemates have almost dug themselves their eviction graves (I’m looking at you Ebony), other contestants have been playing a very good social game, charming both fans and the personalities inside.

However, there is one contestant in particular who fans are convinced has what it takes to go all the way to the end, even though he was close to being up for elimination himself.

27-year-old Ryan from New South Wales has quickly charmed the Australian public, despite entering the house with his secret sibling Tahlia.

At the BBAU Awards, he won the awards for “fakest housemate”, the one “most desperate for attention”, and the “worst first impression”.

After hearing these rough categories, fans poured out with support for Ryan online, including two-time Big Brother winner Reggie Bird, who chimed in to say she “loves Ryan”.

“Justice for Ryan!!!” one user commented.

“That’s just Ryan being Ryan!” another wrote. “The sweetest Darl with the biggest heart!”

“Ryan is my favourite,” many others agreed.

Speaking to WHO before the show aired, Ryan unpacked the type of housemate he’ll be and what he’s most looking forward to on the show. His answers alone are proof that he deserves the fan-favourite crown.

‘After losing a few important people in my life, I don’t hold hate for anything’

Ryan told WHO that he was most looking forward to “being pushed to [his] limits in [the Big Brother house]”.

“I do go off and do my own thing and have my own time, but I’m looking forward to these challenges because I’m a yes man. I don’t say no,” he said. “So having rations of food and also being sleep-deprived and having people in there that you may not mesh with and seeing them 24/7, I’m like, ‘Chuck me in there!’ That’s such a good experience!

“I want the full experience of life, so I’m going to be tested to my limits!”

He also explained why he doesn’t “have hate” for anyone, and how he carries this philosophy through life.

“After losing a few important people in my life, I don’t hold hate for anything, just understanding and growth, to be honest,” he explained. “I’m really excited to connect with people.”

Ryan is just the ‘chatterbox’ he predicted he would be

Ryan warned us that he would be the house “Chatterbox” and fill the space with a “kid-like energy”, and it’s exactly what fans needed!

“I’ll become best friends with everyone,” he said. “I’m very much an easy person to connect with.

“So if you’re talking to me (I don’t know everything, and I’m so open to experiences in life), I will take you seriously, and I will calm myself down and be like, ‘No, I’m here, and I will be a support.’ I’ll be like, ‘Well, this is what I experienced, and you know, we can talk about what you’ve experienced, and if there’s anything I can help you with or make you feel comfortable, I will do that’, because I don’t like people feeling uncomfortable.”

He knows he has a “chaotic” energy, but he “doesn’t care [about] the way [he] comes across”.

“I don’t judge,” he added. “Because I want everyone to feel comfortable and no judgment. Everyone’s got to judge these days, no matter what, and they always do. I’m just going to have fun with being a Fruit Loop.”

Whatever the strategy, it’s certainly working!
