Married At First Sight’s Cameron Merchant has rubbished reports that wife Jules Robinson and his mother aren’t on speaking terms.
“They were amazing all the way through,” Cam told Today Extra’s Sonia and David of his parents elation over Jules and their engagement.
He added, “They were over the moon – and why wouldn’t they be?! My parents and Jules get along beautifully.”
Cam’s comforting words come after Daily Mail reported that Jule was “jealous” of her husband’s bond with his mother, Margaret.
“Jules is such an independent and confident woman, she found the fact Cam was so close to his mum is really unattractive,” a source told the news website.
The source added that Cameron’s mother Margaret actually expressed her disapproval for Jules on her son’s wedding day, and that the women “no longer speak.”
“Marg winced when she first saw Jules,” the source explained.
“There was a lot of talk that she was telling friends how Jules was not like any girl Cam had gone out with before – completely different in looks and personality.
“She didn’t think it would last, even though she wants the best for him.”
The source was proved well and truly wrong during Sunday night’s vow renewal, when Cameron got down on bended knee to propose to Jules.
The very happy couple told Today Extra’s hosts they’re planning a big wedding for 2019. Yippee!
