Former Australian athlete Cathy Freeman has Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Freeman who is a four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, will attend the events from a different point of view.
Since her retirement in 2003, the mother-of-one has worked on establishing the Freeman Foundation, which works with remote indigenous communities to help close the gap.
Freeman joins Sally Pearson, Cameron McEvoy, Anna Meares, Kurt Fearnley and Laura Geitz as official ambassadors for the Games.
The event kicks off in April 2018.
