Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz have reportedly split after three years together, with multiple sources confirming the pair have called off their engagement, according to People.
News of the couple’s break up comes almost exactly one year since sources confirmed reports that Tatum, 44, and Kravitz, 35, were planning on tying the knot, after photos taken of the couple on October 31, 2023, seemingly debuted Kravitz’s engagement ring.
Both Tatum and Kravitz have yet to comment publicly on their split.
Tatum and Kravitz’s romance first began to blossom in 2021 after the pair worked alongside each other in Kravitz’s Blink Twice, with the Magic Mike star joining the film as protagonist Slater King.
While the couple did not divulge many details about their early relationship, Kravitz did share that she was immediately drawn to Tatum as the film’s star.
“[He was the one] I thought of when I wrote this character. I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows. I got that sense that he’s a true feminist, and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter,” she told Deadline.
Following the film’s release, rumours of the couple’s relationship began to surface in August 2021 after Tatum and Kravitz were spotted on a casual date in New York City.
Throughout their three-year relationship, Tatum and Kravitz did not speak extensively on their romance, however, the former couple were always quick to shower each other with praise for their professional collaboration.
“I’m in awe. She’s doing better than I did on our first movie… I mean, jeez, we barely survived and she’s just killing it,” Tatum told Entertainment Tonight ahead of the premiere of Kravitz’s Pussy Island.
“She saw me. She’s got a weird gift for that. She sees right through a lot of people’s stuff and really, just who they are to her, is really simple. She’s one of the more intentional people I’ve ever met in my life.”
Speaking on the decision to keep their romantic partnership out of the spotlight, the Big Little Lies star told GQ, “You want to keep it sacred and private as long as you can so that you don’t have to even think about what the world thinks about it.”
“He makes me laugh. and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other.”
After two years together, the couple’s engagement was in October 2023, with sources later confirming to People that the couple were planning to tie the knot.
While her dazzling engagement ring may have spoken for itself, Tatum and Kravitz did not comment on their exciting relationship milestone, however, Kravitz’s father, Lenny Kravitz, spoke highly of his future son-in-law following the news.
“He’s a really great guy,” the rocker told BBC2, adding, “He was raised well, so, you know, he’s got manners.”
He’s charming. He’s a soulful human being. And so, he’s become part of the family quite quickly. He fits and they’re in love,” he continued, before seemingly letting slip that the couple had planned to celebrate their nuptials in 2024.
