Unfortunately for George, the drama in real life has rivalled the tumultuous storylines of her characters on the screen.

Where is Melissa George now?

George calls Paris home, having moved to the French capital after starting a relationship with entrepreneur Jean David Blanc in 2011.

The couple welcomed two sons, Raphael in 2014, and Solal a year later, before their split.

In 2016 George had separated from Blanc and cited domestic abuse as the reason for the end of their relationship.

George and Blanc were both found guilty of assaulting each other after an incident in their home in 2016.

The children must remain in France thanks to the country’s strict custody laws so when George is visiting Australia or working in the US, she generally travels solo.

After some difficult years, George appears to have found happiness again.

In March 2024 she announced the arrival of her third son, Lyor Gatsby, on Instagram.

“Welcome to the world my little man,” she posted. “Love knows no end. A mother of 3 sons. Cannot believe it. My heart is so full.”

She has not revealed who the father is.

Does Melissa George have custody of her kids?

George relishes being a mum, calling motherhood “the greatest thing I will ever do”.

However, co-parenting has been difficult for her and Blanc.

George was charged with attempted kidnapping in 2017 after trying to board a flight to the United States with Raphael and Solal.

George’s lawyer, Christophe Ayela, told The Telegraph that the trip was pre-arranged and not undertaken in secret.

“There was no kidnapping attempt,” Ayela said. “Ms George did not know that there was a legal travel ban placed on the children.”

In 2017. the actress appeared on Sunday Night, sharing that she she felt “trapped” in France and had asked the Australian government to step in and help her with the custody restrictions imposed by a French court.

“I just want my country to help me get home and to see this crazy crap we’re going through. I need someone to understand what happened,” she said.

George and Blanc were eventually granted joint custody of their kids, with each required to give permission if the other wanted to take them out of France.
