Nicole Kidman has officially filed for divorce from Keith Urban.
Court documents obtained by Page Six on October 1, 2025, show that Nicole cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason why she and Keith are separating.
The documents also show that Nicole is seeking to be the “primary residential parent” of her and Keith’s two children.
The news that Nicole and Keith had separated was first reported by TMZ, the morning of September 30, 2025 (AEST).
Multiple sources told TMZ that Nicole and Keith have been living apart “since the beginning of summer” – which is June 20 in the US.

20 minutes after TMZ broke the news, People confirmed it.
A source told the publication, “Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.”
“She didn’t want this,” the source added.
“She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

Nicole and Keith first met in January 2005 at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles, an annual event that celebrates Australians in the United States.
Although sparks didn’t fly instantly, they soon connected and began dating later that year.
By November 2005, their romance had blossomed, and just a few months later, in May 2006, they announced their engagement.
Nicole and Keith wasted no time in making things official, tying the knot on June 25, 2006, in a romantic ceremony at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel on Sydney’s Manly Peninsula.
The former couple welcomed their first daughter Sunday Rose on July 7, 2008, and their second daughter Faith Margaret on December 28, 2010.
