The Internet works in mysterious ways, and today is a prime example – with old photos of Prince William dating back to 2008 re-emerging to create a viral sensation among royal fans on social media.
The pictures, which show William’s brief and largely forgotten experimentation with facial hair, have caught the imagination of royal watchers on Twitter, with many commenting that they wish the maturing Prince had stuck with the manly fashion trend.
The flirtation with facial hair, which occurred before he trained as a pilot with the Royal Air Force, has sparked raves from royal watchers – many of whom wish the prince would embrace a more mature and rugged look.
Fans have long commented on William’s suitability for as beard – with many comments erupting during his appearance at brother Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle.
