If ever there were a celebrity couple whose party we’d give anything to crash, it would be one of Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s.

Over the weekend, the A-listers threw an extravagant 80s-themed bonanza in Sydney for their friend Aaron Grist’s 37th birthday at Sydney hotspot Crown Towers but they weren’t the only big names in attendance.

Taking to Instagram, Chris, 37, shared a selection of photos from the day’s festivities featuring guests including Kate Ritchie, Matt Damon, Idris Elba and Chris’ younger brother, Liam Hemsworth.

He also shared a sweet photo with Elsa, who had her new brown hair tied back in a high ponytail, dressed in pink spandex and leg-warmers.

“A little 80s themed party never did any harm! Happy birthday @azzagrist,” the Thor star captioned his post.

Chris’ bulging biceps certainly had people in a tizzy in the comments’ section.

“I thought we weren’t allowed to carry guns in Australia,” one fan joked.

“UR ARMS,” another simply penned.

In January, Matt Damon and his family flew into Australia ahead of filming for Thor: Love and Thunder but the Hollywood actor along with wife Luciana Barroso and their children were granted an exemption to isolate at a private residence in NSW rather than undergo hotel quarantine.

Despite well wishes from NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet and even Prime Minister Scott Morrison, not everyone was thrilled by the Damons’ arrival and accused them of getting special treatment due to Matt’s celebrity status.

“Of course he does. What a deeply flawed system we have that excludes Australians from coming home but welcomes Damon and allows home to isolate as a private home,” one person penned on Twitter at the time.

“I think you can as long as you’re going to visit your friend Chris Hemsworth?” another joked, referring to the Damon family’s close relationship with Chris and his family.

The 80s party comes shortly after Chris shared an image of some schoolwork written by his son Tristan in which he calls his dad his “special friend.”

“My little boy’s creative writing,” Chris captioned the post.

“’My special friend is dad, together we go in the pool, together they make me feel happy,'” he added, alongside a heart emoji and a crying face emoji.

Chris and Elsa share daughter India, who turns eight in May along with their twin boys Tristan and Sasha who turn seven in March.
