After almost a decade of dating and raising five kids together, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo finally asked Georgina Rodríguez to marry him in August.
Speaking about her outrageously massive engagment ring to Elle Spain, the model joked: “It’s the least he could offer me after 10 years of waiting.”
The 40-year-old sports star and 31-year-old model who first went public with their relationship in January 2017, share five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, daughter Alana, 8, daughter Bella, 3, and 15-year-old son Cristiano Jr., whom Ronaldo welcomed in a previous relationship.

Speaking about her impressive sparkler, Georgina admitted: “It’s gorgeous, but the truth is when he proposed- it was the last thing on my mind. It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day.”
The Argentinian model shared the news of their engagment on social media on August 11, with a simple picture of her hand and the gigantic stone weighing it down.

And although their wedding is going to be spectacular, Georgina insisted to the outlet that it will be a “small wedding, 100%, without a doubt.”
Sharing the reason behind the massive ring, Ronaldo told Piers Morgan in November: “She asked me for a ring to offer her because it was one of her dreams to have a good stone,” he shared, adding, “And I work hard, work hard and finally I find what she love.”

The footballer also revealed the part his daughters played in the proposal, saying: “It was like 1 a.m. and my daughters [were] in bed sleeping, Alana and Eva. And one of my friends gave me the ring to offer to Gio (Georgina).”
“I was given the ring, and my two girls come and they say, ‘Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mom, and you’re going to ask her to be married.’ And I say, ‘Wow, this is the right moment to say yes.’ It was the time.”
He added, “I knew I would do it one day. But it was the moment that my daughters [came when I said], ‘Yes, now is the time. This is what I want.’
