While most eyes were on the farmers on Farmer Wants A Wife on Sunday night, there were some viewers who couldn’t help but notice someone else on their screens!
Aside from Farmer Alex, who left the show with Eddy, all the other farmers introduced the women to their families, and one person in particular caught viewers’ attention – Farmer Dylan’s dad!
Brett, Dylan’s dad, made his first appearance on the show, prompting a wave of fan questions such as, “Is Dylan’s dad single? Asking for a mate.”
And they just kept coming with comments like: “Can Farmer Dylan’s father apply for FWAW next year?”, “Was thinking the same thing, but I’m over 80 so you go for it, haha” and “How about Dylan’s father?! He’s a bit of alright!”
So, it’s quite safe to say that the viewers are a little thirsty for Brett!
Others joked that they were looking to see signs of a wife, and it would seem from our investigations that he is not wearing a wedding ring!
Now, maybe he’s the type who doesn’t like to wear rings, or maybe, just maybe, he’s looking for love, just like his son!
One important thing to note: it looks like Brett is a plumber, not a farmer, so he might not be eligible for the show, sorry…
Farmer Wants A Wife stars respond to age complaints
If the Farmer Wants A Wife producers did decide to get Brett on, it would no doubt make viewers very happy, considering many have been saying they would love to watch older farmers find love on the show.
Many fans have also suggested that Dylan and Farmer Zac, who are the youngest on the show this year at 24, can’t possibly be ready to get married.
“I think the farmers should be older. Why would males this young want to marry?” one asked on social media.
“The frontal lobe is not fully mature on a man until they are 25 so I fully agree,” another added.
However, others defended the boys, sharing their stories of getting married early and being together for many years.
“I was married at 22 and still married, celebrating our 50th anniversary in August. Farmers also,” someone shared.
The boys have both defended themselves in this argument, with Dylan telling WHO, “Although we’re young, I know a lot of people who met each other when they were young, like 17, and they’re still together 40-odd years on.
“I don’t think it should really be a matter of how old you are to find love. I completely understand where people are coming from, but everyone’s got a different story.”
He continued, “I’m at a point where I’m ready to find that lady, and I really want to start building the future with her. It’s just a matter of finding the right one for me.”
Dylan added that he was looking for someone to come home and tell stories about his day to, and someone to travel with.
“It’s always better shared, and I don’t think age should come between love,” he said.
Zac agreed, adding, “I’ve been a bit baffled by it. I don’t know if it’s the way I’ve been raised, but I’ve always looked for a long-term relationship.”
“I’ve always looked for that person that I can end up with at the end of the day, someone who I can build a future with.”
He added, “Everyone’s always going to have their own opinions, but that’s just me.”
Zac also said that he thought there could be a difference between those in more rural communities versus those in cities.
