On Monday night’s episode of Farmer Wants A Wife, frontrunner Ally shocked viewers by abruptly leaving the farm. Her departure came after learning that Farmer Dylan had shared a kiss with rival contestant Keeley during their solo date.
The kiss stung particularly hard for Ally after Dylan said that he had “tunnel vision” for her, leaving her confused as to why he would explore connections with other women.
Defending his choices, the sheep farmer explained that he felt he needed to kiss the girls to see if he had chemistry with them.
“I’ve learned through this experience that kissing can really unlock, I suppose, a spark and chemistry,” he told the cameras.
‘I’m obviously kissing everyone’
Although it’s sure to elicit a few eye rolls, Dylan told WHO that making out with the different women was one of the “hardest” things on the show for him.
“If you watch the show, I’m obviously kissing everyone, but I found the kissing aspect to probably be the hardest bit to do, because I’m not someone who typically likes to kiss on the first date or anything,” he shared. “So, when it was kind of – you had to do it – it was a bit daunting, but then once I did it a few times, it was like, ‘Oh this actually is somewhat essential in going forward.'”

Having said that, he never expected Ally to walk out because he’d kissed another girl.
“I didn’t expect the fallout that came with it, but at the same time, Ally and I kissed on multiple occasions, and I didn’t expect her to react the way that she did.
“Because of the nature of the experience, if the farmer’s going on a date with his lady, a solo date, you can almost bet they’re gonna kiss.”
He added, “I can imagine if you did kiss someone and there wasn’t a spark there, then it wouldn’t have been worth progressing forward.”
Dylan also joked that during filming for the show he kissed “the most amount of girls” he’s ever kissed in his life.
Farmer Wants A Wife fans switch off ‘awkward’ kissing scenes
While it makes sense that kissing someone is essential to figuring out if you’ve got chemistry, Farmer Wants A Wife viewers are over all of the lip-locking, with one hilariously writing online, “All we see is them eating each other’s faces.”
“The smooching is so awkward and staged,” another said. “I actually turned it off half way through yesterday and decided to stop watching.”

Another person poked fun at Dylan, writing, “It’s Scarlett…it’s Ally, he literally says the same thing to both of them and whenever he gets the chance to kiss any of them he does…”
Someone else pointed out that Ally was perhaps being a little hypocritical: “So [Ally] carries on like this when he kisses another girl yet she didn’t understand how Lily felt when she kissed Dylan while she was there on their double date?”
“It’s a dating show. Do they really expect that only one girl gets a kiss,” yet another said.
