Back in March, Georgia Love and Lee Elliott tied the knot in front of their nearest and dearest, however there was one important person who was noticeably absent.

Shortly after the 2016 Bachelorette finale when Georgia and Lee could finally go public with their love, Georgia’s beloved mum Belinda passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

However, the beautiful bride made sure that her mum was there with her on her special day in a unique way.

Posting to Instagram, Georgia shared a photo of her stunning wedding shoes and accessories and explained the sentimental meaning behind each piece.

Life is short, buy the shoes,” the former Bachelorette captioned her post.

“A closeup of my wedding shoes, aka the Cinderella slippers of my dreams! My something new, complimented by my something borrowed, the most stunning earrings I’ve ever worn from @keshettjewellery and my Mum’s @linneys_jewellery pearls as my something old. My something blue was a charm for my bouquet from my new mother and sister-in-law.”

Georgia’s sister and maid-of-honour Katie pointed out that she had two “something blues” as well – a blue ribbon belonging to Katie was pinned the locket of their mum inside Georgia’s wedding dress as well as (as Georgia noted) their nan’s garter.

“@georgialove I’m not crying,” one emotional follower penned in the comments.

“Aaawwww so sweet,” wrote another.

Shortly after Lee popped the question in 2019, Georgia penned a heartfelt tribute to Belinda, remarking how tough the week of her engagement had been without her mum by her side, especially since it would have been Belinda’s birthday.

“Happy birthday Maman 💜 I miss you every single day, but this week has been particularly tough,” Georgia captioned a photo of her beloved mum smiling with a passionfruit cocktail at the camera.

“You would have loved seeing me engaged so much, I just have to trust you’re up there having at least this many drinks to celebrate! ❤️💔”

Georgia and Lee became husband and wife at the stunning Frogmore Creek Winery in Tasmania but Bachelorette fans were delighted when it was revealed both of Georgia’s dresses had a nod to the reality TV show where she met her now-husband.

“Fun fact: We dressed Georgia Love the day she met @leeroyelliott on @thebachelorau so we are thrilled to be part of their love story. #happyEverAfter,” dress designer Jason Grech wrote on Instagram.

The couple also recreated the iconic lift from Dirty Dancing as part of their first dance – a move they first tried out on a Bachelorette single date.
