They only shared two scenes during their years on Home and Away, but one-time Summer Bay residents Stephen Peacocke and Charles Cottier shared a change room. “So we got quite close!” cracks Cottier.

The duo were recently in Sydney to promote Cooped Up, the feature film debut from one-time Home and Away director Kane Guglielmi. It’s a zippy comedy about a pro wrestler (Cottier) who is quarantined inside his family home for 21 days after being exposed to a potentially fatal virus. Cottier is in pretty much every scene, a tall order that Peacocke says his friend and former co-star more than filled.

“There are Hollywood actors, people getting big roles at the moment, who would struggle to carry this film,” Peacocke says. “What Charles does is exceptional. We could be witnessing the moment that his career really takes off. If an agent or casting or film director was in the audience last night, I reckon they would push him towards a Marvel movie.”

Cottier, with a grunt, replies: “Marvel? Come on, now! That would be beneath me.” Peacocke, barely missing a beat, retorts: “Well, maybe some nerd character in a Marvel movie.”
