Kim Kardashian Reveals ‘I Truly Don’t Know If I’d Ever Wear Real Jewellery Again’ Post Robbery

She's a new woman!

In the fallout since her robbery back in October, Kim Kardashian has turned over an entirely new leaf. Not only has she doubled-down on the amount of personal security guards she keeps with her at all times, but she’s also radically scaled back how much she shares about her personal life, taking a three-month hiatus from her various social media platforms before returning with a much more restrained, stylised approach to the medium. And as she told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview on her talk show on Thursday, the experience has also made her very trepidatious about wearing any type of extravagant jewellery ever again.

In the in-depth interview, the reality star opened up about her harrowing experience, telling Ellen, “Automatically your stomach drops. It’s a feeling you can’t explain. And I knew that was it for me. Hundred percent [knew I was going to die].” She continued, “It was a good seven or eight minutes of torture, but when I look back and analyse it, I’m like, ‘OK, they weren’t really aggressive.’ It could have been way worse.”

The star adds that before the robbery she was more “materialistic,” and now she’s completely changed her way of life.

“Not that there’s anything bad about having things and working hard to get those things — and I’m really proud of everyone that’s around me that’s successful. But I’m so happy that my kids get this me,” she explains. “And that this is who is raising my kids. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.”

Kim, who only wore a delicate wedding band for her appearance on the talk show, says she later learned that the robbers had been following her every move for two years prior to the heist, saying, “They had been hearing interviews that I did getting excited about this jewellery or this jewellery, and it’s not to say that I’ll never wear jewellery again or anything like that. I truly don’t know if I’d ever feel comfortable. My whole life has changed in terms of how I travel and what security.”

So don’t expect her to bring back any of those jaw-dropping jewels anytime soon, though of course, she will make the occasional exception for a few of her husband’s Yeezy pendants.
