Married At First Sight’s Scott McCristal was dealt a tough hand this season, finishing the experiment with a broken heart after his on-screen romance with Gia didn’t work out. And, while there is no denying her (and other brides’) behaviour raised many questions and was a major talking point throughout the season, Scott thinks the men were all “well-behaved”.
Instead, he simply doubled down on the brides.
Scott told WHO that the brides were “toxic” throughout the season, and he feels the grooms were all left in the firing line — even defending that unseen footage of Danny demanding the producers ‘get him better women’ and claiming there will be women ‘queueing up for him’ now after his time on the show.
“I think in Danny’s defence, obviously I know there’s a few comments out there that people have witnessed and probably weren’t well said, I wouldn’t say [them] but at the same time, I think that’s just Danny’s personality,” Scott told WHO.

“It’s his character, it’s not meant to be really malicious what he’s saying.
“Like I’ve spoken to him, he’s pretty upset about it. But also too, Danny’s from the UK, he throws bombs like that without it being really harsh, but it does look like it is pretty harsh.”
MAFS Scott claims he’s ‘not sexist but’ the brides were ‘disgusting’
Understandably wounded by Gia’s behaviour towards him and their relationship, Scott said she got in the way of him building friendships with the other grooms.
“Obviously the relationships that we [Danny and him] had got caught in the middle of it all, which is what caused us to not be civil throughout the experiment, because Gia would obviously always convince me about others in the whole show, like I could barely even hang out with anyone,” he said.
“She’d always manipulate me and convince me that everyone’s not a good person.”
Now close friends with Danny, he believes Gia’s behaviour (as well as Alissa’s), is what kept him apart from the other grooms.
“[Alissa is] just another girl trying to cover up her toxic behaviour. I feel like these girls have just jumped into relationships and they’re publicly displaying [them] because, number one, they’re trying to get some money off bloody magazines. Number two, they know what they’ve done wrong, so they quickly snatch someone up to try and amend their bad behaviour,” he said.
It’s definitely a fair point.
But, when questioned if any of the men had been “toxic” this season, Scott replied with a resounding no.
“No, not really, hey. I think most of them were pretty well behaved. Obviously, Tyson had his views, but he wasn’t really carrying on in a sense of swearing and being nasty.
“I’m not being sexist, but what I witnessed this season was shocking from the women.
“I didn’t realise there’s women out there that could be so, you know, misbehaved, especially with the words that come out of their mouth.
It’s just absolutely disgusting,” he said.
Letting the guys off Scot-free, are we?
