Married at First Sight‘s Stella and Filip had the love story that other contestants (and fans) can only dream of. But, when giving advice for aspiring MAFS contestants, the pair did not hold back.
With very few bumps along the road, the pair ended the show engaged (for real) and plans for a wedding in Europe next year.
Stella and Filip spoke to WHO about all the details on their time on the experiment, their impending nuptials and what it takes to be on one of the most nationally televised and explosive TV shows in Australian history.

Stella and Filip said you need ‘thick skin’ and ‘money’ to be on MAFS
When asked what advice the successful couple would give to future and aspiring MAFS contestants, both Filip and Stella surprisingly opened with a firm “don’t go” on it stance.
They also said future hopeful so be very much prepared to lose some money.
“I would say don’t go if you’re not going there with [an] authentic mindset to find love, because it can create more damage,” Stella to WHO.
Filip agreed and warned that if future contestants are planning on “doing it literally for a following or whatever, [they] are going to be disappointed.”
“You need to be solid,” Filip continued. “You have to have done internal work, you need money behind you 100 per cent, because you’re going to be disrupted like you would not believe.”
Filip’s journey on MAFS was a transforming one as he’s now quit his job in construction and has moved into the “men’s health space” full time, coaching people in person and online and doing “things that are a lot more important to [him].”
Filip discussed how he had to shift his “mindset” and approach his relationship with Stella with “faith rather than fear”, contributing to their relationship’s success.
Filip stressed that to find this kind of love and survive the experiment like they did, aspiring contestants are “going to have to have thick skin” and know themselves before they begin – a quality that not a lot of the contestants seemed to have this year.
“If you want it to work, if there’s a second you’re not in it, you need to get out, you need to step out, because you are going to look a certain way in front of people,” he admitted to WHO.
“It is the biggest character reference that there is in the Australian public, so you need to be solid, and that could ruin you and all your future goals and employment aspirations or whatever, if you literally cannot present a good character.”

Stella also stressed that “money” makes a big difference on the experiment.
“You know when people say money is a magnifying glass, if you’re good, you will do good, if you’re bad, you will be bad,” Stella. “So I think going on a show that’s being filmed for three months, it will show all of the cracks in you as a person. So what Filip said, if you’re not solid, you better not risk it.”
You heard it here first, instead of making money on MAFS, most people lose it.
If Bec and Gia’s job losses and employment struggle post-experiment is anything to go by, Stella and Filip are right on the money with their advice (pun intended).
But, as always, the earning potential as a content creator is enticing.
What’s next for Stella and Filip?
Filip’s surprise proposal during the Final Vows was pure magic and Stella described that her “soul left [her] body”.
The groom admitted he was “sh—ing [himself]” with nerves all day from the “epic build-up.”
Now, still engaged, the couple is letting “the dust settle” as the experiment comes to a close.
Without disclosing too many details about their private real-life wedding, the couple revealed that it will be “next year”, “a lot more low-key”, and in Europe with “all the nearest and dearest.”
“It’s going to be a lot less,” Filip said. “It’s going to be in Europe and it’s going to be in the summer. So, it’s going to be around the July period in Croatia.”
A euro summer wedding? Could their love story be any more iconic?
All we can say is congrats to the happy couple… and may future MAFS contestants head this warning.
