Married At First Sight 2021 bride Jaimie Gardner, 35, is swinging strong at Channel Nine after the way she was edited on the show compared to her on-screen partner, Chris Jensen, 32.

Speaking exclusively to WHO, Jaimie said “the most unfortunate thing about ‘reality tv’ is when it is not a reality at all and millions of Australians are led astray, shown only a curated version of… or in my case a distinct lack of the real events.”

“I was unfortunate to be paired with Chris Jensen, who was portrayed as a loving, kind and upstanding, father of two looking for love but the reality was much different,” she added.
“I have sought external and unbiased mental health support to cope with the anxiety, depression, PTSD which continues to this day due to daily trolling from this false portrayal,” she tells WHO. “I am proud that I chose to stand up for myself. [and] I am proud that I chose to leave.”
She added: “I am grateful that I have been able to have a voice and give strength to so many others who feel too ashamed, intimidated and fearful. These messages are why I will continue to shed light on my MAFS experience and raise awareness.”

Chris became quite the breakout star when he and his intruder bride Jaimie joined the experiment. But, as far as Jaimie sees it, “Chris Jensen was portrayed as a loving, kind and upstanding, father of two looking for love but the reality was much different.”
After just a week of reality TV marriage, the groom decided to leave the experiment after a particularly explosive argument with his wife.
“I came in here to give my heart and to put everything in and I did. I hope that I will actually find the one that I’m supposed to be with and they just want to be with me too,” he mused in his final episode.
