Her relationship with Bryce Ruthven on Married At First Sight has been controversial to say the least, but in resurfaced footage from Melissa Rawson’s audition tape, the 31-year-old admits she has “high standards” when it comes to dating.

In the clip, Melissa mentions how she’s always been single and the fact that she’s never been on a date but admits that she has been selective when it comes to her romantic life.
“I am very picky, I have very high standards – I shouldn’t have high standards, I should just be appreciative of what I can get,” she confesses.
“I thought by now that I would’ve settled down, I would’ve met someone at least and because I’ve never been on a date or had a relationship, it has to be me.”
On Wednesday night at Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa’s MAFS dinner party in Sydney, Bryce and Melissa appeared to be all loved-up as Melissa admitted that Bryce is “very genuine.”
When asked what she likes about her on-screen husband, Melissa responded: “Definitely his personality… unless there’s another secret girlfriend that wants to come out tonight!”
“He is very genuine, he was 100% the most genuine, kindest person I’ve met.”
Melissa also slammed the rumours that he was messaging another girl during their time on the show.
“I didn’t believe that, there’s a lot of controversy around that conversation, Bryce was very honest with me from the beginning and I was very understanding about his past.”
After arriving in Sydney, Melissa defended her radio announcer TV husband to The Wash and said it all came down to the show’s editing.
“I know the real Bryce, what everyone is seeing is a great edit – I’ll say that,” she told the publication.
Meanwhile Bryce, who has been accused of gaslighting his wife, responded to the claims by admitting he didn’t know what the word meant.
“I didn’t know what it was, I had to Google it,” Bryce revealed.
“The edit is definitely part of me, good parts and bad parts. I think everyone else can work that out.”
It’s thought that Bryce and Melissa are still together with the theory being first fuelled in January when some sneaky Instagram clues indicated Bryce had moved from Canberra to Melissa’s hometown of Melbourne.
What’s more, after their wedding episode aired they made a joint live cross from Melbourne, suggesting that they’re still together and living in the Victorian capital.
Pics also emerged of Melissa watching one of Bryce’s soccer games and of the couple watching an AFL game at Melbourne’s MCG.
Bryce also told WHO exclusively that he’s been helping Melissa out with all the attention from the media and MAFS fans.
“I have gone over to Melissa’s house a few times I’m not going to lie,” he said, adding that he’s been by her side as the episodes and drama unfurl.
“I think it’s important that I help her out with all the attention that’s coming our way.”
