Convinced this year will be no different, X is blowing up with theories on what new couple will potentially debut their romance on the red carpet, and Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton are at the very top of that list.
Although “Kimilton” have been spotted out and about together since early 2026, fans are still awaiting their official red carpet debut. I mean, has it been publicly confirmed that they will attend the event together? No. But is it expected? Absolutely.

During a low-key London stroll, anyone with eyes noticed her diamond ring (worn very deliberately on that finger) which sparked news headlines on April 22, 2026.
Despite making no announcement or statement (it’s giving Zendaya and Tom Holland), it just feels right that the Met Gala would be the perfect stage for their next move; perhaps even a verbal confirmation of their possibly exciting news?!
Dakota Johnson and Role Model
If there’s one rumoured couple set to hard-launch at the 2026 Met Gala, it’s Dakota Johnson and Role Model (Tucker Pillsbury). What started as a low-key sighting quickly snowballed into a full-on slew of romantic moments that feel like the lead-up to a grand reveal.
The first whispers came via TMZ, which reported the pair getting cosy over a candlelit dinner, with Dakota reportedly “lying on him” in a way that didn’t exactly scream platonic. Although Madonna made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s second set at Coachella, it’s Jacob Elordi and Kendall Jenner’s alleged antics at the festival that has people still talking. According to eyewitnesses who tipped off DeuxMoi, the two were spotted kissing at a Bieber-hosted after-party.
The now-viral report claimed that multiple sources saw the insanely attractive pair “all over each other,” with one insider claiming they were “making out and very clearly enjoying each other’s company.” I mean, if the Coachella sightings are anything to go by, they may as well attend the Met Gala together…or better yet, leave it together!
Alix Earle and Tom Brady
Now Tom Brady and Alix Earle making a red carpet appearance together might be a little far-fetched, but stranger things have happened! The NFL player walked the iconic steps with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen nine times after debuting as a couple in 2008.
Since the breakdown of his marriage, Brady has been linked to TikToker Earle after the two were spotted looking cosy at a New Year’s Eve party in St. Barths, followed by another sighting at a Super Bowl party in San Francisco. Although it is said to have been a very “casual” encounter, the two could very well surprise the world at the 2026 Met Gala.
What unexpected celebrity will attend the 2026 Met Gala?
Justin Bieber
It’s been a minute since Justin Bieber last climbed the steps of the Met Gala, five years to be exact, but if his recent run is anything to go by, a return this year would feel less like a comeback and more like a victory lap.
The last time Justin Bieber attended the Met Gala was in 2021 with his wife Hailey Bieber. However, the red carpet moment was overshadowed by fans shouting the name of his ex, Selena Gomez.
However, if he returns this year, the atmosphere would likely feel very different as public opinion around the mother of his child has shifted significantly since then, with a more supportive fan base and far less of the chaotic noise that followed earlier appearances.
The singer also seems to be stepping back into the spotlight after a long hiatus from Hollywood and owned the stage at Coachella this year after dropping not one but two albums in quick succession. We are crossing our fingers he makes a comeback this year!
Beyoncé
After nearly a decade away, Beyoncé is officially set to return to the Met Gala, and not quietly. She’ll be stepping back onto the carpet as a co-chair for the May 4, 2026 event, marking her first appearance since 2016.
It is unknown why she took such a long break from the event, however, the fact that the last time she attended, critics said her Givenchy dress looked like she was covered in pimples, I’d say that was reason enough. Let’s hope she has better luck with the fashion police this year; I can’t bear anymore Met Galas without her!

Although Kim Kardashian always looks picture perfect, we can’t help but worry she’s going to wear another all-black Balenciaga bodysuit that covers her face…we’re still traumatised by her 2021 look.

Jared Leto attended the 2019 Met Gala carrying a replica of his own head in his hand, and dressed as a cat in 2023…need I say more?
Hailey Bieber
Before I get attacked, Hailey Bieber is an icon and she would look good in a bin bag. However, does she often just wear what she wants regardless of theme? I think so. That’s not to say the pink Alexander Wang thong dress didn’t change my life in 2018…but the theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination so not sure of the relevance there.
