TV trainer and author Michelle Bridges, 48, has confessed that it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for her and her partner, Steve ‘Commando’ Willis.
In fact, the couple didn’t hit it off the first time they met, with Steve, 42, snubbing Michelle initially.
“I remember he walked up the driveway [on The Biggest Loser] and I said to Shannan Ponton: ‘Who the hell is this?’ And he goes: ‘I don’t know!’” Michelle told WHO magazine editor Keshnee Kemp on the Raw Talks podcast.
“[Steve] just walked up, sunglasses on, arms crossed, and stood next to me.
“I just went ‘G’day’ and he just ignored me! I was like: ‘who is this guy?!’
“If someone would have said to me ‘In 11 years you’re going to have a baby with this man’ I would have just said: ‘shut up!’” she exclaimed.
But fast-forward a few years and Michelle and her partner Steve are now the proud parents of Axel, 3.
Fitness instructor Steve is also dad to three children from a previous relationship.
Speaking of what drew them together, Michelle explained to Keshnee that their shared past experiences played a part.
“We both come from similar backgrounds. Even down to our childhood. Even down to our family structure. Even down to heartache,” she said.
“We didn’t really find that out till later, but I think there’s a kindred spirit connection in that.
“And we both had come out of hard relationship breakups and we kind of had that in common.
“At first we were just supporting one another as nothing other than mates. And it kind of just went from there,” Michelle revealed.
