It was a heartbreaking end to My Kitchen Rules for Alisha and Deanne, with the best friends sent home after a nail-biting Instant Restaurant showdown against Zoe and Zac.

The South Australian mums came agonisingly close to securing their place in Kitchen HQ, with Angus and Simon only managing to beat them by a single point. And while fans are still coming to terms with the Classy Bogans’ exit, it seems the boys have found themselves in the firing line.

Angus and Simon started out as a fun-loving pair, but their scoring and comments towards other contestants have since sparked growing backlash. Some viewers think their attitude has changed, while others are already hoping they won’t last much longer in the competition.

Speaking to WHO after their elimination, Alisha and Deanne reflected on the boys’ dramatic change in attitude, comparing them to Round One villains Jane and Shane. And if that comparison doesn’t tell you how much they think things have shifted, we’re not sure what does.

MKR fans are calling Angus and Simon the ‘most hated’ contestants

The reaction to Alisha and Deanne’s elimination has been swift, with many viewers disappointed to see the best friends leave the competition so narrowly. Many are also turning on Angus and Simon, accusing the boys of becoming smug and overly critical.

“I can’t believe how brazen they are after their absolute fail,” one viewer wrote online.

Another was even more blunt, saying: “They have turned NASTY.”

Others questioned whether the boys’ attitude had changed since the beginning of the season, with one commenting: “Wow, and at the start they were quite ok.”

Some viewers also called out the show’s biased scoring, noting that it has increasingly been based on personal feelings rather than the food.

“The scoring for this show needs to be changed. There’s no fairness. Contestants can be scored really low just because they are disliked, and some people are just nasty,” one fan wrote.

Not everyone was against the drama, however, with one viewer pointing out: “Who cares? It’s all in fun. We need a villain.”

One viewer even predicted the boys could become the show’s “most hated” contestants, writing: “Now I get it’s the producers in their ear, but I feel after this, the boys are going to be the most hated contestants.”

Alisha and Deanne weigh in on Angus and Simon’s shift

Alisha and Deanne also noticed a change in the boys. The best friends told WHO Angus and Simon initially appeared to be there for a laugh, but felt their attitude became more critical during Round Two.

“You definitely see in Round Two that they definitely changed. And apparently, yeah, it gets a bit more crazy as the season goes on,” they told WHO. “They just seemed like they were there for a good time and a laugh at the start, and then towards the end it was like maybe they wanted some extra air time.”

In fact, they couldn’t help but draw comparisons to Jane and Shane, who became the controversial villains of Round One.

“I was like, who is this? Jane and Shane have had a makeover and sat back at the table,” they joked.

It’s quite the comparison, considering how much attention Jane and Shane attracted during their time on the show. But clearly, Alisha and Deanne felt the boys had started giving them a run for their money.
