If there’s one thing My Kitchen Rules’ Alisha and Deanne aren’t going to forget in a hurry, it’s Jane and Shane’s infamous pigeon.
The classy bogans have had plenty to say about their rivals’ disastrous Instant Restaurant. It ultimately saw Jane and Shane eliminated in the first week of the competition, but while viewers watched the drama unfold on screen, it seems there was still a little unfinished business between the teams.
Alisha and Deanne told WHO about a cheeky exchange they had with Jane when the contestants reunited for the Grand Finale. Naturally, the conversation turned to the dish that helped send Jane and Shane packing.
That pigeon isn’t going to be forgotten anytime soon.
‘Maybe you should have used our plates, doll’
Alisha and Deanne revealed they were particularly shocked by the presentation of Jane and Shane’s pigeon main, especially after discovering who had actually plated it.
“I think we had a conversation with Jane later, you know, when we all came back for the Grand Finale and stuff, and asked her, ‘Did you just leave Shane to plate that’?” they recalled.

Jane’s answer apparently caught them off guard.
“And she said to us, ‘No, that was her plating’. I thought, ‘Oh my, no way. We’re judging everyone just for it to come out looking like utter crap!”
“Maybe you should have used our plates, doll’. Take away the actual plating itself.”
Ouch. So much for letting bygones be bygones!
While we’re yet to see the Grand Finale, the exchange offers a little sneak peek at what happened when the teams reunited. And judging by Alisha and Deanne’s reaction, Jane’s plating made quite the lasting impression.
It definitely has for us, at least.
