Finally, after months of awards shows, we have finally reached the big one – the 98th Academy Awards, AKA the Oscars! The Oscars took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and aired on Monday morning (Australia time) on Seven and 7Plus.

Rose Byrne and Jacob Elordi were representing the Aussies this year in two major categories, with Guido Wolter also receiving a nomination for his visual effects work on Sinners.

Rose was up for Best Actress for her performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, while Jacob’s performance in Frankenstein had him up for Best Supporting Actor.

The Golden Globes are often a strong indicator of how the Oscars may play out, and while many thought that with Rose having won the Golden Globe, she could walk away with the Oscar, it instead went to Jessie Buckley for her performance in Hamnet.
