Alone Australia has returned for a thrilling third season, and we’re back in the rugged, freezing wilderness of Tasmania/Lutruwita. Ten brave survivalists have signed up to face nature, solitude, and the brutal elements, all for the chance to win $250,000. But as any fan knows, it’s not just the cold and hunger that will test them, it’s the emotional weight of being completely alone.
From epic shelter builds to desperate fishing attempts (no bow hunting this time), we’ve already seen some incredible displays of grit and resilience. But not everyone can go the distance. Here’s who has tapped out so far this season and who’s still in the running.

Matt Allwood, 31
Indigenous Youth Worker – WA
Tapped out: Day 16
Matt was the first contestant to leave the show this season, choosing to depart after 16 emotional days in the bush. A proud Yanyuwa, Waanyi/Garawa man and former NRL player, Matt had the skills—he caught eels, built a solid shelter, and had the fire-making down pat.
But being away from his young family in Broome—his wife, three-year-old Remy, and one-year-old Lani—took a serious emotional toll.
“I don’t want to be crying every day,” he admitted as he made the tough call to go home. Despite tapping out early, he hoped his family would still be proud of what he achieved.

Eva Angophora, 31
Rewilding Facilitator – NSW
Tapped out: Day 17
Eva became the second contestant to leave this season, tapping out on day 17. Viewers watched her celebrate her birthday in episode 4 with nothing but a lichen “cake” and starlit solitude. Despite her impressive bushcraft skills and knowledge of foraging, Eva struggled with one major hurdle: food. Over two weeks in, and still no fish.
“I don’t feel regretful, I just think I can’t push past the hunger,” she said. Though disappointed, Eva remained proud of what she achieved in the wild. Sometimes, nature doesn’t play fair and even the most skilled survivalists can be outmatched by bad luck and empty stomachs.

Ceilidh Marigold, 34,
Disability Support Worker – QLD
Tapped out: Day 19
On Day 19, Ceilidh’s time on the show came to an emotional end after she was medically evacuated due to an infection, likely contracted from lake water. It was a gut-wrenching twist, especially given how well she was doing: her fish trap was full, her shelter was solid, and her spirits were high. Ceilidh had all the tools and resilience needed to make it to the end, and even the medics’ final call couldn’t shake her determination. “I’m not ready,” she said through tears, struggling to come to terms with a departure that felt far too soon. “I thought I had it.”
