A fresh batch of bombshells, a villa full of temptation and a love triangle that has Sophie Monk getting butterflies? Love Island Australia is back, and if the host is to be believed, we’re in for the most dramatic season yet.

“I even think globally this is just gonna be ridiculous,” Sophie told WHO, describing the new season as the best reality television she’s ever seen. “It’s just going to blow your mind.”

Season eight sees the Islanders swap Spain for Fiji, moving into the famous Love Island USA villa for a summer of steamy dates, messy love triangles and heads turning faster than you can say “I’m not here to make friends”. Sophie is back to oversee the chaos, but even she seems surprised by what’s unfolding.

“It’s got the best love triangle I’ve ever seen in anything ever,” she said. “It just gives me butterflies.”

And just when you thought coupling up couldn’t get any more complicated, six returning couples, dubbed the Power Couples, will have a say in how life in the villa unfolds. Because nothing says romance quite like having your love life scrutinised by people who’ve already been through it themselves.

This year, 14 singles are ready to flirt, couple up and hopefully find someone worth deleting the dating apps for. With $50,000 up for grabs for Australia’s favourite couple, there’s plenty at stake.

From a former professional footballer to a former Miss New Zealand, here’s everyone entering the Love Island Australia 2026 villa.

Phoebe describes herself as “funemployed” and is a hopeless romantic with a serious love of theatre. She’s appeared in around 70 plays and 30 musicals, so she’s certainly no stranger to the spotlight. She’s also spoken about spending $70,000 of her inheritance in just six months. Let’s hope her villa budget is better managed than that!

Shawnee, 27, Gold Coast

Online fitness coach Shawnee describes herself as an “extroverted introvert”. She runs her own fitness business and says her face gives away exactly what she’s thinking, which could make keeping secrets in the villa a little tricky. After a relationship rollercoaster, she’s ready to put herself back out there.

Meet the Love Island Australia bombshells

Ava, 24, Perth

Jordan describes himself as “charming, cheeky and confident”. He owns Airbnb properties and has an interesting family background: he’s the son of a former Prime Minister of Tonga. He calls himself an “international landlord”, so his business card might be a little different from the average Islander’s.

Sammi, 23, Whangārei, New Zealand

Former Miss New Zealand Sammi beat 170 women to win her crown and has spent the past year travelling the world. Despite a few flings with All Blacks players, she says she hasn’t been kissed in nearly two years. That’s a long time to wait for a villa romance, so let’s hope the boys are ready to step up.

Zel, 29, Gold Coast

British-raised Zel speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Before entering the villa, he played professional football and was part of West Ham’s development squad.
