Welcoming cooks from across the country into their homes, the contestants of My Kitchen Rules have already delivered some show-stopping instant restaurants, with judges Colin Fassnidge and Manu Fieldel sampling some of the franchise’s best cuisine to date.
As the contestants plate their multi-course menus, the audience continues to witness some major culinary triumphs (and maybe a little bit of inspiration for your next Sunday night dinner).
While some flavours may take pride of place on the judge’s palettes, the heat of the MKR kitchen can also prove to be too much for some contestants, with the duos hanging their aprons and closing their books on instant restaurant reservations.

Who has left My Kitchen Rules 2024?

Mike & Pete – WA
With one semi-final round down, Mike and Pete faced off against fan favourites Simone and Viviana for the final place in the My Kitchen Rules finale.
Despite having a 15-minute advantage, the judges were confused by some of the duo’s flavours and underwhelmed by their cooks. While they tried to redeem their menu with their ruby chocolate tarte, their menu sadly fell short alongside Simone and Viviana’s Italian cuisine.
“We’ve enjoyed almost every moment. It’s been a wild, wild ride,” Pete said following their elimination.

Janey & Maddie – VIC
Battling it out in Kitchen HQ for a place in the semi-final, mother-daughter duo Janey and Maddie sought to challenge their culinary capabilities with a highly technical menu – plating kingfish ceviche, beef wellington, and raspberry souffle.
Despite cooking many of their dishes to perfection, Caz and Fergus’ flavours left the judges wanting more, with the gatecrashers beating out Janey and Maddie for a place in the My Kitchen Rules grand final.

Rob & Liam – VIC
In the final round of MKR’s Ultimate Instant Restaurant, Rob and Liam were sitting at the bottom of the leaderboard, with their place in the competition resting on whether newcomers Janey and Maddie could deliver a palette-pleasing menu for the judges.
Sadly for the pair, the mother-daughter duo delivered a menu that was good enough to leapfrog their fellow contestants into second place, bumping Rob and Liam out of the competition.
“We’ve proven through this competition that we’re great cooks,” Liam told Seven, adding, “We had one really bad day. We left the door wide open for everyone to beat us.”

Hannah & Lawrence – WA
Joining their fellow contestants for the first cook-off in Kitchen HQ, Hannah and Lawrence were sadly eliminated after earning just 19 out of 30 points.
The competition heightened as teams faced off over three nights, with Rob and Liam, who had won the Ultimate Judges Power, judging and scoring other teams. Despite their best efforts, their honey and ginger cake fell flat on the judge’s palette, making the couple the latest duo to leave the competition.
“Honestly, we gave everything we could. We worked out butts off to get where we are now. I’m just so proud of how far we came,” Hannah told Seven.

Robert & Andrea – NSW
Entering the competition as gatecrashers, Robert and Andrea’s instant restaurant was dedicated to showcasing their German heritage through traditional dishes and unique flavours.
Starting their heritage menu with leberknödel suppe (liver dumplings in broth), judge Colin Fassnidge described their entree choice as “polarising” before later describing their main as a “fail,” with the dish receiving a unanimous score of 2/10 from the judges.
With an overall score of 46/110, Robert and Andrea were sadly asked to hang up their aprons.

Ash & Cassie – SA
Turning their focus towards a flavour-packed healthy menu, friends Ash and Cassie delighted the judges with their coconut kaffir lime panna cotta, however, Colin and Manu did not hold back when critiquing the remainder of their courses, with Manu describing their main dish as “unseasoned, unloved, and undercooked.”
Receiving a total score of 60 out of 110, Ash and Cassie’s instant restaurant landed them in second-last place and, in a shock double elimination, the duo were sent home following the first round of the competition.

Danny & Sonia – QLD
With their passion for home cooking taking centre stage in their instant restaurant, siblings Danny and Sonia were eager to impress the judges with their pub-grub-inspired menu.
While their mud crab with mango chilli dip and espresso martini trifle scored the tick of approval from Colin and Manu, their take on a filet mignon left a lot to be desired – sending Danny and Sonia home from the competition with a score of 56 out of 110.
