The Block has been an exciting season so far, and it certainly hasn’t disappointed in the drama department.
From the sharehouse accommodation causing tension amongst the contestants to cheating scandals erupting seemingly every week, the stress of the competition is plain to see as the teams battle it out in the hopes of renovating the most impressive houses possible.
It’s no wonder contestants are clashing!
However, it’s for this reason that House 5’s Rick wishes he’d taken a page out of his daughter Tayla’s book while filming.
Speaking to WHO, Rick revealed the lesson he’s learnt while watching the show back and confesses there’s one major regret he has about filming the show.
Rick wishes he acted more like Tayla on the show
Many fans have had a mixed response to Tayla on The Block as her fun and free-spirited personality has both stolen hearts and got on viewers’ nerves.
From her spontaneous trips to the beach to her dance breaks on site, if there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that Tayla had the time of her life filming The Block; always quick to make a joke or do something silly.
In hindsight, Rick wishes he’d done the same. Instead, he felt like he was too serious.
“I wish I’d had more fun on the show, to be honest,” Rick told WHO. “Yeah, look, I come on the show to do the biggest prankster of all time, but I didn’t even do one.
“Just mentally, it was just too [much].”
Rick added: “Tayla had the time of her life, and I get joy watching Tayla back on the show now, because I don’t see half the stuff that she does. So, I’m rewinding every episode, going back to what Tayla’s doing.
“Like I said, I wish I had as much fun as what Tayla did, you know, she absolutely loved it.”
