As The Block returned for its 20th season, it’s safe to say no one expected this level of drama.

This year, Australia’s favourite home renovation show headed to the stunning coastal location of Phillip Island, where five couples from around Australia began transforming an abandoned resort into luxury family holiday homes. But, things quickly went awry with drama taking over the home reno show, and reports quickly emerged that controversial couple Jesse and Paige quit the show mid-season.

Shortly after the pair left, more rumours emerged suggesting Kylie and Brad were set to follow, and thanks to a shocking “flirting scandal,” Kylie has now walked off ahead of the season finale.

Do Kylie and Brad quit The Block?

Earlier in the season a source reportedly told The Daily Mail that “Kylie had an absolute meltdown at the end of week 12 and stormed off the set…She flat-out refused to continue filming, and the pair didn’t even show up to finish their communal space in week 13.”

“I’ve got no clue how the producers are going to handle this on-screen or how they’ll edit around it,” they continued.

Once the scandal erupted on screen, Kylie did in fact leave the show, however, she returned shortly after.

“If I gave up, we’d leave with nothing. So, whatever we get, even if it’s $10k, I’m taking f**king half of what you get and I’m leaving your arse,” she told Brad.

But her return was shortlived, leaving once again and telling producers she wanted to never return. “I don’t want to come back for auction, I don’t want to come back and have to deal with them. I don’t,” she admitted.

“It’s a really disappointing situation that we’ve found ourselves in,” Scott Cam shared the following day. “The competition now is between four houses only. Kylie and Brad are not returning.”

Will Kylie and Brad attend the Auction?

All eyes are on the upcoming Auction Day to see if Kylie will appear – a decision Brad himself is still unsure of.

“That’s something that I am still talking to my wife about, we don’t know what we’re doing,” he previously told the Daily Mail when asked if the pair would attend the live auctions.

After the pair were spotted together celebrating The Melbourne Cup, Brad and Kylie broke their silence in a new interview with A Current Affair.

“Kylie and Brad are back, and we’re told, back together,” host Seb Costello announced to viewers before speaking with the couple.

“We’ve definitely learned some things along the way about just how much we can actually do, no matter what else has happened or gonna happen, we’re still here and we’re gonna keep going,” Brad told the show.

“But did I learn anything?” Kylie questioned. “I don’t think I [learned anything], I just stuck to my guns.”

“She wouldn’t admit it if she did,” Brad added.

“We just have to see the ending be the ending, we just want everyone – we love everyone… and we want everyone to come away from this with something achievable and a good result,” Kylie continued.

Kylie, 37, is a hairdresser and owner of a wholesale hair products business. Known for her signature green hair, she quickly became a favourite with the locals while filming on Phillip Island. Kylie’s been a hairdresser for 20 years and now runs her business alongside her mother. “I want to step back and focus more on the wholesale business in the future,” she said ahead of the season.

Brad, 32, is an electrician and plumber who runs his own successful business in Cairns. With a keen interest in the technical side of lighting, he hoped this expertise would give him an edge on The Block. “Lighting to me is like architecture. That was a real strength for Steph and Gian last year, and I hope it will be my strength this year,” he said ahead of the season.

Married for seven years, Kylie and Brad met two years before tying the knot when they lived across the street from each other. Life is busy for them, juggling work and parenting with little spare time. Despite their hectic schedule, they had always been fans of The Block and were excited to finally take part. “I guess it’s something we have always watched and thought we could do, so why not give it a crack?” Brad said.
