Having celebrated her milestone 21st birthday, fans are wondering if Lady Louise Windsor is next in line for a royal wedding, as the Queen’s grandchild steps out with a fellow student.
Lady Louise’s boyfriend Felix Robert da Silva-Clamp is half-Australian. Read on to learn everything you need to know about him.
Who is Lady Louise’s boyfriend Felix Robert da Silva-Clamp?
Just like her cousin, Prince WIlliam, Lady Louise met her love interest while studying at St Andrew’s university in Scotland.
The daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, started taking classes there in late 2022.
She met Felix when they were cast to star alongside each other in a student play two years ago.
Her beau is the son of British solicitor Jonathan Charles William da Silva-Clamp.
His mother, Kendall Clamp, lives in Melbourne, and has a master’s degree in Epidemiology.
Felix also spent many years Down Under, attending Melbourne Grammar School from 2017 to 2022.
He currently works at a local ice cream parlour while studying towards his degree.
Things have even gotten serious enough that Felix has met her parents.
He was spotted chatting with the duchess in Norfolk in June as she watched Louise participate in a carriage driving competition.
It has also been reported that the pair would like to come study in Australia for a year so Lady Louise can get to know his mother better.
Why isn’t Lady Louise a princess?
With Louise and her brother James being the youngest grandchildren of the late Queen Elizabeth, it comes as a surprise to many that they they aren’t called princess and princess.
Instead she is known as Lady Louise WIndsor, while her brother became the Earl of Wessex after King Charles ascended to the throne.
Due to the historical Letters Patent issued back in 1917, a princely status and the title of Royal Highness is given to all male-line grandchildren of a monarch.
However, Sophie and Edward made the choice when their children were young to not use them, unlike their cousins, and Louise has since followed their wishes.
“Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely,” Sophie once told The Times.
Lady Louise’s brother is currently 16 so will be able to make his own choice in the near future too.
