In today’s digital age, royalty is no longer confined to palace walls and official duties; it has seamlessly integrated into the world of social media.
As monarchs and their families embrace platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, they’ve created new avenues for engagement, offering fans a closer look into their lives than ever before.
Whether showcasing personal moments, promoting charitable causes, or simply sharing glimpses of royal events, these figures have turned social media into a powerful tool for modernising their image and expanding their reach.
From influencers with millions of followers to royals making headlines for their savvy online presence, the digital age has undoubtedly redefined what it means to be a royal.
In this article, we’ll explore the biggest and most influential royal figures on social media, highlighting their unique approaches to connecting with the public and navigating the ever-changing digital landscape.

James, Earl of Wessex
With his good looks, the Earl of Wessex is set to be the British royal family’s next heart-throb. James, who is the only son of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, made a big splash when he joined the Windsors for their Easter celebrations in April.
“Edward and Sophie’s son is a grown-up man now,” commented one social media user along with a heart eye emoji.
Currently in 16th place in the British line of succession, he is sure to make a splash on London’s nightlife scene, just like his older cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, after he turns 18 in December.
He is expected to start university next year and will “very likely to have to work for a living”, his mother has said.

Prince Christian of Denmark
As the next King of Denmark, much of the Crown Prince’s path has already been decided, but if he is anything like King Frederik, Christian will be up for a bit of fun before he gets the top job.
Since finishing high school in June 2024, the prince enjoyed an extended holiday in South Africa and is currently completing his compulsory military service.
Just 19, his love life has already made headlines thanks to a brief relationship with Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.

Prince Achileas-Andreas of Greece and Denmark
The grandson of Constantine II – the last King of Greece – was raised in the US after the family was sent into exile. However, their blue blood continues to see them well respected in royal circles, with Britain’s Prince William being Achileas-Andreas’ godfather.
The 24-year-old is an aspiring actor who uses the name Achi Miller. He has appeared in five episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful and had a minor role as a “teen” in raunchy comedy No Hard Feelings, starring Jennifer Lawrence.
He was in a long-term relationship with Isabella Massenet, the daughter of the founder of Net-a-Porter. However, the pair reportedly split in October.
With extreme wealth on both sides of his family – his commoner-turned-princess mother, Marie-Chantal, is the heir to a billion-dollar retail fortune – Achi could certainly be considered quite the catch.

Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange
Just 21, this future Queen of the Netherlands has already had a taste of the downside of being royal. Amalia, as she is known, was forced to withdraw from university and move to Spain for a year in 2022 when a plot to kidnap her
was uncovered.
It wasn’t all bad news, though, with the princess meeting her rumoured boyfriend, Boris of Bulgaria, also known as the Prince of Tarnovo, in Madrid. The pair are widely reported to be dating.
“Madrid is like a second home for me, especially at a time that was difficult in the Netherlands,” she said during a speech in April.
Now safely back home, Amalia is preparing for her destiny on the throne and has started undertaking solo royal engagements this year.

Victoria de Marichalar de Borbón of Spain
The Spanish It girl is the only daughter of King Felipe’s older sister, Infanta Elena. While close to the crown – she is fifth in line in the Spanish succession – the glamorous royal is unlikely to inherit the throne, so has greater freedom in choosing her own path.
The 24-year-old is forging a career in fashion and social media influencing. She has amassed over 330,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares snaps of her jetsetting lifestyle.
“Wasting time in the Caribbean,” she captioned a snap of herself relaxing on a sun lounge in a purple bikini.
Victoria has also graced the cover of Elle Spain and is a regular attendee at Fashion Week across Europe. Her father, Jamie de Marichalar, works at LVMH, so that has certainly helped get her foot in the door.
