Who is Taylor Ortega’s fiancee Emily Kob?
Emily is a Brooklyn-based writer and producer who works at creative production company Tallboy Agency.
A Stanford University graduate, Emily has worked across film, television and digital production. Her screen credits include Motherless Brooklyn, HBO documentary Great Photo, Lovely Life and short film Gold and Mud.
She also worked as a production manager on the short film Last Knife and is involved in the comedy world herself. Emily co-hosts the dating podcast Ok Stupid with comedian Caroline Doyle, with the pair also taking the show to the stage for live events in New York.
Taylor and Emily have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye, and it is not known how long they have been together.
The actress has previously spoken about her sexuality and identified as queer, explaining that her own experiences helped her connect with her Big Mistakes character, Morgan.
The engagement comes during a major moment in Taylor’s career following her breakout role opposite Dan Levy in the Netflix crime comedy.
Dan Levy praises Taylor Ortega
Speaking to WHO about casting Taylor as Morgan, Levy said the actress completely changed his understanding of the character.
“The great thing about the casting process is that you write a character, you have an idea of who they are, and then an actor comes in and shows you a side of that character you had no idea could exist,” he said.
“If you do the casting right, the actor will revolutionise your idea of what the potential for a character could be.”
Levy said finding Taylor for the role made everything fall into place.
“Finding Taylor in this moment in her career, watching her step into this role, it felt like the clouds parted and everything was right in the world.”
Taylor’s character Morgan is also navigating an engagement in Big Mistakes, although her relationship with long-term boyfriend Max is considerably less celebratory.
Thankfully, Taylor’s real-life announcement appeared to involve fewer doubts and considerably more cake.
Big Mistakes is streaming now on Netflix.
