Who are Split Enz?

The band first formed in New Zealand in 1972 before moving to Australia three years later.

They began as a psychedelic art-pop experiment before eventually moving into more new wave rock music.

Known for their flamboyant aesthetic and theatrical performances, they garnered a large fan base and have had ten albums reach the top 10 of the Official New Zealand Music Chart.

The group called it quits in 1984 when Tim Finn stepped away to go solo after the success of Escapade. By that point, years of touring had also taken a toll, and the band was ready for a break.

Neil Finn and Paul Hester then went on form a new band, Mullanes, with bassist Nick Seymour. They later changed their name and is known as the Crowded House we know today, who gained international success.
