Angelina Jolie has offered some rare insight into the lives of her six children with husband Brad Pitt.
The Maleficent star, 41, revealed during a segment on BBC Radio’s 4’s Woman’s Hour on August 26 that her children are already quite accomplished, explaining that Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8, are all learning to be bi-lingual.
“All the kids are learning different languages,” the Oscar-winning actress said. “I asked them what languages they wanted to learn and Shi is learning Khmai, which is a Cambodian language, Pax is focusing on Vietnamese, Mad has taken to German and Russian, Z is speaking French, Vivienne really wanted to learn Arabic, and Knox is learning sign language.”
Jolie added: “I suppose that just means you don’t know who your children are until they show you who they are and they are just becoming whoever they want to be.”
As impressive as learning a second language may be, the Jolie-Pitt clan have also already started considering their future careers, and according to Jolie, none of them have any desire to follow in their parents footsteps.
“None of my kids want to be actors,” Jolie revealed, adding: “They are actually very interested in being musicians. I think they like the process of film from the outside. Mad is interested in editing. Pax loves music and deejaying.”
Maddox helped his mother make the Netflix original film First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, based on the book written by Loung Ung.
“Maddox will be on set every day after school and involved behind the scenes,” Jolie told the AP last year.
Maddox also worked as a production assistant on his mother’s latest directorial effort, By The Sea.
