The Voice is back for 2021! Our favourite singing show that puts singing talent above all else is returning for its 10th season, with new coaches and a bevy of talented performers to take our collective breath away.
We’ve had a little bit of insight into what we can expect for this year, with Channel Seven announcing their new coaching panel last month.
While Guy Sebastian will stay on as a coach, we’re waving goodbye to Delta Goodrem, Boy George and Kelly Rowland for the time being.
Instead, Guy will be joined on the coaching panel by Australian country music superstar Keith Urban, actress and artist Rita Ora, and Jess Mauboy, one of Australia’s most talented and favourite ever singers to come out of a reality TV show.
Jordan and Sian Fuller
Channel Seven announced the first two of this year’s contestants would be Jordan Fuller, and his sister Sian.
Jordan, 19, grew up around music, with a singing teacher for a mother.
He will have all four coaches in awe with his Blind Audition, singing Falling by Harry Styles.
“I can’t believe how somebody this young has that much soul in his voice,” Rita Ora says of Jordan in a preview clip.
However, in the end, Jordan is not the only Fuller hoping to wow the judges.
His 16-year-old sister, Sian, goes along to support Jordan, only for fate to step in when host Sonia Kruger asks if she’d like to audition, too.
This young gun is not throwing away her shot, but what will the judges think?
Halimah Kyrgios
Sporting a particularly noticeable last name, 31-year-old Halimah Kyrgios is here to show that while her brother Nick is a super-talented tennis player, she’s got the musical talent in the family.
Having worked in musical theatre around the world for years now, Halimah is back home and ready to try her luck on The Voice.
The talented singer, who elected to sing Chains by Tina Arena for her blind audition, admitted that she found the process quite nerve-wracking.
Sofia Watt
This WA teenager is not afraid to take her chance in the spotlight at the blind auditions, telling Woman’s Day that she dedicded to audition solo “because I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it.”
Usually performing with her band Sonatay, Sofia has been singing and performing for quite some time now. Devastated by the 2019 bushfires, she rallied local bands to join her and Sonatay to do a charity concert and raise funds for those in need.
Darren Constable
Darren has been performing since his teenage years, often along the likes of The Angels and Billy Thorpe, who inspired his musical journey.
“My wife Maria and I returned from living in Dubai in 2017, and we were watching the show, Maria said, ‘You should do this!’ after some thought, I said, ‘Sure, why not, it’s a whole new avenue, and it looks like fun!’,” he told TV Week.
Darren is hoping to turn Keith Urban’s chair with his blind audition next week!
WATCH BELOW: The Voice: Meet Mick Harrington. Story continues below.
Mick Harrington
Referred to as ‘The Mower Man’ in the promo that introduces him, Mick owns his own gardening business, and has two very cute daughters with his partner, who are all introduced alongside him. The video goes on to show Mick singing a chilling rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” turning all four chairs. To make it even more emotional, he proposes to his partner on stage before choosing a coach. And this is just the promo! We can’t wait to see what Mick brings out during the show.
