One of The Block’s more controversial contestants Sara Vale and her husband Hayden have experienced their fair share of ups and downs on the show.
After being slammed by judges three weeks in a row, the newlyweds threatened to quit the show.
“Disappointing is an understatement. It’s actually devastating,” a tearful Sara said after judge Shayna Blaze called one of their rooms “a basic display home”.
Now, the mother-of-one tells WHO that a lot of the judge’s weekly critique was just “insults”.
“As well there being constructive criticism, a lot of it was just pure insults,” the 31-year-old said. “A lot of it just kind of knocks your confidence.”
She continued, “They showed some of the insults and comments, but they didn’t show all of them. There were comments that the judges made that we didn’t get read out and we couldn’t say in our final interview.”

The stay-at-home mum also revealed that due to editing, the audience doesn’t actually get to see her real reactions to the judges’ comments.
“It’s just more about them putting the show together and the reactions, she says. “And some of the reactions that we made were from comments that they said that were never put in the show.”
