There’s nothing White Lotus fans love more than drama… especially the drama that goes on behind-the-scenes.
Whispers of a clash between the two stars started circulating after the two seemed to distance themselves on social media, despite the two reportedly forming a close friendship while the cast lived together at The Four Seasons in Thailand while filming. In a recent interview with Variety magazine, stars of the series, Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins, who play lovers Chelsea and Rick respectively, have finally discussed the speculation, claiming that “there is no feud.”

Where did the rumours start?
Rumours of the two stars clashing heads first started swirling around online after an eagle-eyed fan noticed that Goggins, 53, had unfollowed Wood, 31, on Instagram despite having just recently posted a series of photos of the two on set with part of the caption reading: “Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget.”. Fans also noticed that Wood’s previously made comments weren’t appearing under his posts, prompting the internet to believe he had blocked her on the social platform. In the press, both stars continued to talk about each other in a positive light, but Goggins’ actions sent mixed signals when he didn’t attend the cast’s season-finale watch party.
“I was sad that Walton wasn’t there because it was something we did together. But also—it’s so f—–g Rick and Chelsea. Of course, Walton had to watch it alone and of course, I had to watch it in a group. There’s so much Aimee in Chelsea and so much Walton in Rick.” Wood told The Hollywood Reporter.
Fellow cast member, Jason Isaacs, who plays Timothy Ratliff in season 3, only added fuel to the fire with his comments about the drama that goes on behind the drama series.
“It was like a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies but in a gilded cage. It wasn’t a holiday. Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost… They say in the show, ‘What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand,’ but there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.” Isaacs explained to Vulture.
They eventually re-followed each other in early May, seemingly squashing the rumours. However, a few days later at the Met Gala, the two weren’t seen interacting, despite the mini-reunion that the cast of the series shared on the blue carpet.

What have they finally said?
In a rather wholesome interview with Variety, Goggins goes on to say that “There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” he gushed. “This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.” he said about Wood.
In regards to the Instagram unfollowing, Wood commented that “I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a sh–e about Instagram,” she said. “Why not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?”
The team at Variety also reported that the two still seemed affectionate towards each other while discussing the alleged dispute, supposedly holding hands, tearing up, and embracing each other throughout the conversation with each other.
“Hopefully that answers everybody’s questions,” Goggins concluded.
