Winter is encroaching on us down here in Australia, and our skin isn’t loving it.
While we need certain products to target any dryness or reactions, we can restore that summer glow if we wish by using fake tan.
Fake tan can be a daunting product to take on, especially if your skin tone is on the paler side. You might worry about it coming up orange, or looking totally different to how you did before.
These are our favourite fake tans for a myriad of skin tones, so take a scroll through to find a product that suits you and your skin as you chase that warm-looking skin for all your winter events.
Self Tanning Foam in Light/Medium, $19.95, from Adore Beauty
Bondi Sands is a much-loved Australian company that’s been tried and tested many times over. Their Self Tanning Foam is a nice, gentle introduction to tanning that will see you come up a few shades darker, but not in such a way that’s shocking, or orange. Over the years, they’ve perfected their approach to glowy, golden skin – and you can now speed up the tanning process with their Aero Express tan. See below!
Aero Self Tanning Foam 1 Hour Express, $26.95, from Adore Beauty
This product offers you a quicker tanning process, which is perfect if you’re forgetful and never think to tan the night before that big event you’re headed to! If you have paler skin, this one will definitely work for you – just avoid the darker-toned option!
Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse – Medium, $34.95, from Adore Beauty
Similar to Bondi Sands, this is a tanning mousse/foam rather than a lotion. With a quick-developing colour, this tan advertises an ‘olive glow’, and ‘professional results’.
Jergens Natural Glow, Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse, $13.91, from iHerb
Another fast tan! Jergens has a range of beautiful products, and their tanning mousse is no different. Drying in 60 seconds, you’ll see this colour develop very quickly. And an added bonus – you don’t have to wash it off! Make sure you go ‘light bronze’ over ‘deep bronze’ for this one.
Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam Self Tan, $44.90, from Myer
Bali bronzing? Yes please! This tanning product is proudly lightweight and non-sticky, allowing you to paint it on with ease. They use a green-grey base, which gives you an olive-toned tan, creating that summery look we’re longing for.
Le Tan Coconut Water Gradual Tanning Lotion, $11.49, from Priceline
This tanning lotion is gradual rather than instant, and develops the more you apply it – which you can do over a few days. If you’re on the paler side and hoping to just dip your toe in, this is a great way to do so! You can let the tan develop overnight, and either darken it the next day, or fix up any accidental tanning streaks and be ready to go!
