Despite the New York fashion week incident involving her altercation with Nicki Minaj, Cardi is still influential enough to be recognised in the fashion & beauty community as Tom Ford has just named a boys and girls lipstick after one of the highest-selling female rappers.
The famous designer unveiled the lipstick while Cardi was sitting front row at the beauty brand’s spring/summer 2019 show.
Cardi is amongst great company as the designer has included other celebrities with namesake colours in the past such as Dakota Johnson and Naomi Campbell but has saved the bold high-shine royal blue shade for Miss Cardi B.
Tom Ford’s Instagram account posted about the lipstick (which is supposedly already sold out) captioned “Meet Cardi” on Saturday which came only a day after the Nicky Minaj incident. The post attracted thousands of comments, many who say they weren’t happy with the decision by Tom Ford to name a lipstick after Cardi.
Comments included “”I won’t be purchasing this, she is a poor example for all women. Her attitude & immature actions are awful. She acts like a toddler who doesn’t know how to control her emotions. I won’t be purchasing any makeup for you all again,”
While others still showed support making comments like “”Yasssssssss I WILL be buying this!! Her come up and struggle was real that’s what the American dream is about,” and “It is just crazy how much ppl despise this woman. But when you’re on top you have many haters comes with the territory. Good move Tom Ford,”
