The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies is one of Australia’s longest-serving TV presenters, having starred on Channel Seven for 23 years.

But the 54-year-old looks as fresh-faced and stunning as ever, despite more than a decade of early morning alarms while hosting the breakfast program alongside her co-host of 13 years, Larry Emdur.
Yet the mother-of-two says she has never been tempted to go under the knife, jokingly confessing that viewers would be “stuck looking at this mug” for several years to home.
When asked whether she would ever consider undergoing a plastic surgery procedure, Kylie told The Daily Telegraph: “Oh boy. Never say never… but I would be really frightened of how surgery would turn out.”
Kylie admitted she’d be concerned she’d ‘hate’ the end product.
“I don’t even like getting items custom made such as dresses because I like to try before I buy. I feel this would be the same for my face. What happens if you hate the result?” Kylie told the publication.
She later added: “You’re stuck looking at this mug. Sorry.”
Kylie has previously opened up to WHO about her thoughts on ageing, saying as the years go on, she feels even more comfortable in her skin.
“I don’t feel a day over 30!” Kylie told WHO in 2019.
“Here’s the thing, I don’t walk around stressing over whether I’m about to get another wrinkle. I’m at a stage in my life where I feel quite comfortable in my own skin. For every extra line or crow’s foot … guess what? It comes with a bonus offer … of extra knowledge, empathy, wisdom.”
She said she has a ‘young mindset’ and ‘reaching this age’ is a blessing.
“I’m proud of my age and I’ve never attempted to hide it. But, hand on heart, I have better things to occupy my mind and time. Would I prefer to have the skin of a 30-year-old? Sure. But, you know, look around. I have such beautiful friendships made over such a gorgeous length of time.”
She admits that having access to a professional glam team as part of her day job certainly helps her look put together during the week.
“I’m very lucky – I’ve got a hair and makeup department that looks after what I look like Monday to Friday,” Kylie said.
“But you know what, on the weekend I’m on my own and that’s the real Kylie.
“That’s the Kylie that you’ll see running up and down the sidelines taking photos of her kids’ AFL game and it’s the mum you’re going to see in the aisles at Woolies doing her groceries,” she said.
Kylie has been married to her husband Tony Gillies for more than 30 years, with the pair tying the knot in 1989.
Tony is also a journalist and recently stepped down as editor-in-chief of AAP after more than 30 years in the job.
The couple have two teenage sons, Gus and Archie, and live in Sydney.
