Only girls who suffer from oily skin can relate to the daily struggle of waking up with a thick layer of sebaceous oil all over your face.
Not to mention the issue of having your makeup slide around throughout the day and avoiding moisturiser for fear of making the problem worse.
But according to the Candice Kemp – the founder of Supple Skin Co. – the solution to help regulate the oil production of those genetically blessed with oily skin is actually by using oil itself.
Mind = blown.
Speaking to Kemp, we asked her to shed some light on why oil works so well to return the skin to ‘normal’.
“As a victim of oil slick skin my whole life I can personally vouch for how incredible oil on oil is for balancing skin, particularly hemp seed oil,” Kemp tells WHO.
“It has a 0% comedogenic rating (so it’s non comedogenic which means no clogged pores). It’s one of the only oils that’s boasts a 0% rating and it’s also known as a ‘dry’ oil because it absorbs so well into the skin.”
“This means healthy well-fed skin that can breathe, while balancing oil production because the skin is neither too dry nor too oily.”
Facial oils should be used after retinol or serums to lock them in, and before sunscreen in the morning.
